Reaver was originally born in Oakvale and is well known in Albion for being an excellent marksman. It is said that he would capture ships by shooting the captain from across the water no matter the distance or conditions. The more impossible the shot was, the faster the crew would surrender. When leading the Hero of Bowerstone through the tunnels of his home, in Bloodstone, he tells the player how much he loves a good ‘scrap’, exemplifying his willingness to fight and competence in battle. Reaver is blessed with eternal youth and often remarks on periods of time he has lived in. His immortality comes from a deal he made with the Shadow Judges in the Shadow Court. The Shadow Court granted him his immortality through the destruction of his hometown of Oakvale, which ended up killing his childhood sweetheart. Which was absolutely devastating for him initially. In his mind, he had believed that, in the very moment when her life was taken, that he had become a monster– The difference is that, after thinking he had become a monster, he started acting like one. Though he is no longer the man he had once been, he frequently has nightmares replaying what he had done over and over– Forcing himself to relive it all. To calm himself down upon waking, as he is always quite shaken, he tells himself “I am not he. I am Reaver.” and proceeds to drink some of his favorite wine in order to go back to sleep.
But does he regret what he did? No. Not at all. It is not regret that he feels upon waking from a cold sweat inducing nightmare. It is not regret he feels when thinking about all the people he had to kill to get where he is now. No, it’s fear. Oakvale had been lit up in flames, screams filled the air, and death had engulfed everything. It was haunting. But he cares not for the lives that were lost, not even for the life of his beloved Eleanor ( the name I have given to his childhood sweetheart ). Her death might have been crushing, but he would do it all again if he had to. He doesn’t feel bad about anything he did– He simply cannot take living through the fear over and over again.
In regards to his personality, Reaver is typically pragmatic and free of any sense of loyalty; making him incredibly amoral. He’s frightfully vain– Obsessedwith his own pleasure. He is cunning, egotistical, and it seems though no matter what anyone does, no matter what sorts of decisions one makes, he manages to benefit in one way or another. Reaver always seems to get his way, and that– That usually proves to be far too annoying for most to handle. But what he desires is sometimes not limited to money or status– No, sometimes he craves things of a more intimate nature.
Reaver is a natural flirt, taking a keen interest in absolutely anyone he finds to be particularly beautiful. Though, if his flirting seems to fail, he usually drops it entirely. He’s all about pleasure, after all. If someone isn’t into it, then how could it possibly be pleasurable?
